My name is Ruqi Sun, and you can call me Ricky. I am an undergraduate student in Computer Science and Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where I conduct research at the DVA Lab under the supervision of Prof. Yuxin Ma. I also work with Prof. Dongyu Liu at the VIA Lab, UC Davis. For my current research on agent-assisted visualization, I am jointly advised by Prof. Dongyu Liu and Prof. Yuxin Ma.

My research focuses on Human-AI Interaction in the contexts of visualization and creativity support. I am particularly interested in how AI agents shape users’ understanding, agency, and decision-making in complex authoring and analytical workflows. I design and study interactive systems that make AI-generated decisions more visible, reviewable, and open to human revision.

I build AI that does more than produce answers: it gives people the power to understand, challenge, and change how those answers are made.
